Concrete pit construction, Skelmersdale - Part 1
Leading groundwork and concrete contractor in Lancashire.
This week one of our teams have been starting the groundworks for a new machine for a packaging company in Skelmersdale.
The job consists of two deepened pads, a retaining wall and a pit. Firstly the area was marked to the dimensions of the technical drawing and then cut with a diamond saw.
The area has been broken out using our 3 ton Kubota and Terex breaker, the concrete removed and the area excavated to the correct depths using laser level. Care was taken to make sure no unknown services passed through our digs.
Before concreting a damp proof membrane was installed and mesh fabric placed to give our new slabs greater strength.
They were poured and finished Friday allowing some curing time so the pit base would be ready for pan shutters to be erected Monday.
